Miranda Stewart is a freelance film and theater director based in Los Angeles. Her work spans genres, including musicals, classics, and new works. The connecting thread comes from her desire to connect with and discover the depths of each character. She is interested in making the fantastical seem real and finding the humor in tragedy.
Currently, Miranda is attending CalArts, pursuing an MFA in Film Directing.
Miranda grew up in Tucson where she enjoyed directing her sisters and neighbors in short films. She originally moved to Los Angeles to become a biologist, but the lure of the stage became too great. She graduated from Occidental College with honors. Miranda is a member of Actors’ Equity and an associate member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society.
